Musician’s On Call To Honor Darius

Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients, families and caregivers in healthcare environments, has a million reasons to celebrate during its Millions of Moments special event at City Winery on Monday, October 24th. The organization will mark a major milestone, performing for more than one million people in hospitals nationwide since its founding in 1999, by recognizing the volunteers, artists, hospital partners, patients, families, caregivers and songs that led MOC to this accomplishment. Tickets are on sale now at LANDING PAGE URL. The public can also participate in the silent auction ahead of the event and bid on one-of-a-kind items like signed guitars furnished by Gibson Guitars and a 2022 Honda Passport.

Two special honorees will be recognized for more than a decade of support of Musicians On Call’s mission. Universal Music Group (UMG) Nashville recording artist Darius Rucker will receive the Music Heals Golden Ukulele for performing at the bedsides and virtually for adult and pediatric patients, Veterans and hospital staff in facilities nationwide. UMG Nashville Vice President of Media Marketing Leigh Parr Malleus will receive the Leadership in Music Golden Ukulele for serving as a Volunteer Guide for MOC’s Nashville-area hospital programs and connecting countless artists to MOC’s programs and live music campaigns, including Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae, Jon Pardi, Sam Hunt and others.

“From our early days bringing music to a single hospital, to playing virtually for over 250,000 patients and caregivers nationwide during the pandemic, our organization has grown tremendously since 1999. This evening will allow us to celebrate these accomplishments and the people who are a part of them,” said Musicians On Call President & CEO Pete Griffin. “Honoring Darius’ and Leigh’s volunteer work with us, before, during and since the pandemic, is a wonderful way to not only highlight their dedication and generosity but also to spotlight the many chapters of MOC’s evolution.”

The night will also feature special appearances and performances by Music Row artists including Charles Esten. Guests will be the first to experience the future of Musicians On Call as the organization unveils a proprietary online platform that will transform its program delivery model and enable the organization to scale dramatically. MOC will also premiere its new brand identity which includes a new logo, revamped website and fresh branding.
